Breaches of Responsibilities
Abandonment - This is an act of discontinuing emergency medical care without making sure that another health care professional with equal or better training has taken over.

Negligence - An act that fail to provide the expected standard of care, causing further injury or death to the patient.
RIGHTS OF PATIENT

The patient has the right to:
​
1. Solicit and receive pre - hospital care
2. Confidentiality regarding personal information and condition
3. Pursue legal recourse for acts of negligence, abandonment and or violation of confidentiality.
4. Refuse care.

TYPES OF CONSENT
​
1. IMPLIED CONSENT - Consent assumed on the part of an unconscious, confused or seriously injured patient or a minor patient who cannot made decisions.
​
2. EXPRESSED CONSENT - Permission that must be obtained from every responsive, competent adult patient before providing emergency care.
